DOCTRINE OF THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT


  1. Uniqueness of the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
    1. Prior to the Church Age, the Holy Spirit was the agent of regeneration, Jn.3:1ff.
    2. The Holy Spirit in the Church Age regenerates, baptizes, seals, indwells, and imparts spiritual gift(s).
    3. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is peculiar to the Church Age.
    4. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is the basis for equality, unity and royalty in the Church Age.
  2. Prophecy of the baptism of the Holy Spirit, Jn.14:20; Act.1:5.
  3. Definition: the baptism of the Holy Spirit is the ministry whereby the Holy Spirit enters the believer into union with Jesus Christ so that the believer shares the election and destiny of Christ, Gal.3:26-28.
  4. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is the mechanics of current positional sanctification (truth), 1Cor.12:13; Eph.3:16; Col.2:10.
  5. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is simultaneous with salvation. It is NOT an experience, Col.2:12.
  6. The baptism of the Holy Spirit interrupts the Jewish dispensation and begins the Church Age, Mt.16:18; Act.1:5; 2:3; 11:1517.
  7. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is one of at least seven other baptisms.
