CHRONOLOGY OF CHRIST'S MINISTRY
  1. His ministry before the first Passover.
    1. It began in the summer/fall of 29AD, right after His baptism.
    2. After His baptism was His temptation, Mt.4:1-11; Mk.1:11-13; Lk.4:1-13.
    3. The call of His first disciples, Jn.1:35-51.
    4. The wedding party in Canaan, Jn.2:1-11.
    5. His journey to Capernaum, Jn.2:12.
    6. His journey to Jerusalem to attend the first Passover of His public ministry, April 7, 30AD 14 Nissan, Jn.2:13.
  2. The ministry from the Passover of 30 to 31AD.
    1. The ministry in Jerusalem and Judea, Jn.3:1-36.
    2. With John's imprisonment, Jesus went from Judea to Galilee, passing through Samaria, Jan.-Feb., 31AD, Mt.4:12; Mk.1:14; Lk.4:14; Jn.4:43-46.
    3. He began His great Galilean ministry, Mt.4:13-17; Mk.1:14,15; Lk.4:14,15; Jn.4:43-46.
  3. The ministry from the Passover of 31 to 32AD.
    1. The Sabbath grain picking incident was the approximate time of the 31AD Passover, Mk.2:23-28; Lk.6:15; Mt.12:18.
    2. The continuation of the Galilean ministry (Sermon on the Mount, etc.).
    3. In the summer of 31AD, Jesus was rejected by religious leaders. He began teaching in parables from here on out, Mt.12:22-37; Mk.3:19,20.
    4. He attended the Feast of Tabernacles during the week of October 21-28, Jn.5:1.
    5. Returning to Galilee, He sent out the twelve, Mk.6:6-13; Lk.9:16, and received the news of John's death.
    6. The feeding of the 5,000 near the Passover of 32AD (April 13, 32AD), Lk.9:10-17; Mk.6:32-44; Jn.6:1-15; Mt.14:13-21.
  4. The ministry from the Passover of 32 to 33AD.
    1. From the Passover to the Feast of Tabernacles is a period of public retirement.
    2. Jesus retired to Phoenicia after the feeding of the 5,000, Mt.15:21-28; Mk.7:24-30.
    3. Jesus fed 4,000, Mt.15:32-39; Mk.8:1-10; the great confession, Mt.16; the transfiguration and teaching and healing.
    4. The trip to Jerusalem, the Feast of Tabernacles, September 10-17, 32AD, Jn.7:2-10.
    5. His return to Galilee and later to Jerusalem for the Feast of Dedication, Jn.10:22-39; His ministry in Samaria.
    6. The ministry in Samaria included sending out the 70, Lk.10:25, 13:21; upon their return, an extensive ministry in Samaria.
    7. Arrival in Jerusalem for the Feast of Dedication, December 18, 32AD.
    8. He goes to Perea, Jn.10:40-42; Lk.13:22, 17:10.
    9. He returns to Jerusalem to raise Lazarus, Jn.11:1-54; His second trip to Jerusalem.
    10. He went to Ephraim, Jn.11:54; Lk.17:11.
    11. His final journey to Jerusalem with a ministry of parables and miracles, Lk.17:11-19:23; Mt.19:1-20:34; Mk.10:1-52.
    12. Jesus went to Jerusalem for the last Passover of His earthly ministry, Jn.11:55-12:1.
