DOCTRINE OF DARKNESS
  1. Darkness exists in two realms: the spiritual and the physical.
    1. Spiritual darkness in the universe originated with Satan and his angels, Eph.6:12 (the rulers of darkness of this world {kosmokra,twr, kosmokrator}); Lk.22:53. Satan is the author of darkness.
    2. Physical darkness (absence of light) originated with God as a judgment on, and a sign of, Satan's kingdom, Isa.45:7 "I am the One forming light (Qal.act.pt. rc;y" , jatsar: out of divine essence already there) and creating darkness (Qal.act.pt. ar'B' , bara: out of nothing); Gen.1:2; 2Pet.2:6; Jd.6; angels of Gen.6 were put in prison with no lights. Angels have light bodies.
  2. God in His essence is completely devoid of darkness, 1Jn.1:5. In Him is no darkness at all.
  3. Spiritual darkness is Satanic doctrine and is called light by reversionism, Isa.5:20 "Woe to those who call evil good and good evil; who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness (reverse process reversionism)."
  4. Unusual instances of physical darkness used as a divine judgment.
    1. Judgment on original creation, Gen.1:2 "and darkness was on the face of the deep (it was like an ice pack and there was no light)."
    2. The ninth plague on Egypt, Ex.10:21-29. There were three days of absolute blackout. People could not move from point A to point B. (The Jews had light in their homes.)
    3. The three hours of darkness while Christ was being judged, Mt.27:45 "From the sixth hour there was darkness (12 noon) over all the land until the ninth hour (3 p.m.)"; Mk.15:33; Lk.23:44.
    4. The day of the Second Advent (a day of darkness), Joel.12:2,31; Amos.5:18 (the day of the Lord will be darkness); Amos.5:20; Zeph.1:15.
    5. The unbeliever in Phase 3, Mt.8:12 (also fire).
  5. The mechanics of soul darkness.
    1. Negative volition to the gospel or Bible Doctrine.
    2. The opening of the vacuum.
    3. Infiltration of the doctrine of demons.
    4. Blackout of the soul, Rom.1:21 (corrected) "Because knowing the God, they did not glorify Him as God (faith) nor were thankful (grace appreciation), but having become worthless (mataio,w, mataioo) in their thoughts, their undeserved right lobe was darkened"; Eph.4:18 (having their understanding darkened).
  6. The divine solution to the problem of darkness.
    1. Light on day 1 (D+1) of restoration, Gen.1:25.
    2. The gospel for the unbeliever, Mt.4:16 "The people who were sitting in darkness saw a great light, And to those who were sitting in the land and shadow of death, Upon them a light dawned"; 1Pet.2:9.
    3. Doctrine for the believer, Ps.18:28 "For You do light my lamp; The Lord my God illumines my darkness."
  7. Reversionism loves darkness (and hates light), Jn.3:19 "men loved darkness rather than light."
  8. Spiritual darkness divorces the individual from reality, producing psychosis, Deut.28:28,29; 1Jn.2:911.
  9. The Tribulation will produce maximum worldwide darkness, Rev.16:10 "and his kingdom was full of darkness."
  10. In eternity, there will be no darkness for the believer, Rev.21:23 "And the city has no need of the sum or of the moon to shine upon it, for the glory of God has illumined it, and its lamp (is) the Lamb."
