GLOSSARY OF TERMS AND ABBREVIATIONS

ADJUSTMENTS TO GOD: There are three adjustments to the Plan of God:
the Salvation adjustment, the Rebound adjustment, and the Maturity adjustment.

ANGELIC CONFLICT: The conflict between positive volition and negative
volition and its resolution.

ANTEDILUVIAN: The period before Noah's Flood.

ANTHROPOLOGY: Study of man in Scripture.

ANTHROPOMORPHISM: The ascription to God of human anatomy such as
hands, arms, eyes, etc.

ANTHROPOPATHISM: The ascription to God of human emotions and feelings.

BEMA SEAT: Greek noun (bh/ma, bema) for
the Judgment Seat of Christ immediately following the Rapture for the purpose
of evaluating the believer's works.

BIBLE DOCTRINE (BD): The realm of truth revealed in the Bible.

BRAIN COMPUTER: The biochemical human brain processes as distinguished
from the immaterial soul energy.

CANONICITY: Determination of which books are Scripture.

CHRISTOLOGY: Study of the Person of Christ.

CHPs: Common human problems we are all tested by.

DIRECTIVE WILL: What God requires to be adjusted to His Plan.

DISPENSATION: One of four periods of history administered according
to God's will.

DIVINE ESSENCE: The divine attributes of God who is immaterial,
invisible and yet real. They include: Sovereignty, Righteousness, Justice,
Eternal Life, Love, Omniscience, Omnipotence, Omnipresence, Immutability,
and Veracity.

DIVINE VIEWPOINT: God's thoughts and wisdom versus man's.

ESCHATOLOGY: Study of prophecy of the end times.

EXEGESIS: Analysis of the Scripture from the original languages.

FAITH REST: Trusting in God and His promises.

FIFTH CYCLE: Death of a nation accomplished by God for unrepentant
evil.

FILLING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT: The immediate result of the confession
of personal sin (1 John 1:9).

GRACE APPARATUS FOR PERCEPTION: All that God provides so that positive
volition can assimilate the entire realm of Bible Doctrine.

HAMARTIALOGY: Study of all aspects of sin.

HERMENEUTICS: The science of Biblical interpretation.

HUMAN VIEWPOINT: Thinking and wisdom that finds its source in Satan
and fallen man.

HYPOSTATIC UNION: The union of the divine nature with the humanity
of Jesus constituting the God-Man.

ISAGOGICS: The study of the historical and cultural background to
the text of Scripture.

KENOSIS: The doctrine related to Jesus Christ's refusal to exercise
the attributes of His deity to benefit His humanity during the period of
His incarnation.

LIVING GRACE: All that God supplies to sustain a believer's physical
life.

LUPE: Greek noun (lu,ph, lupe) meaning
sorrow. Sorrow in the life of the believer.

MARANATHA: Aramaic prayer meaning "Lord come!", found in 1 Corinthians
16:22.

MILLENNIUM: The 1000 year reign of Christ following the Second Coming.

MOST PRESSING RESPONSIBILITY: Believer's first priority. Assembly
under face-to-face teaching in a local church.

NEGATIVE VOLITION: Volition that is antagonistic to or indifferent
to the Directive Will.

NEW YOU: The inner man of Bible Doctrine.

OLD SIN NATURE or OLD YOU: Human motivation or point of view that
results in sin or human good.

OVERRULING WILL: When God intervenes and stops a particular activity,
as in the flood.

PERMISSIVE WILL: What God permits.

PHASE 1: (Ph1) Salvation.

PHASE 2: (Ph2) From salvation to physical death.

PHASE 3: (Ph3) The believer's eternal niche. Heaven.

POSITIONAL TRUTH/SANCTIFICATION: Doctrine related to the believer's
union with Christ.

POSITIVE VOLITION: The will of man that seeks and desires to know
God's Plan.

POSTDELUVIAN: History since the Flood.

RAPTURE: The resurrection of Church Age believers ending the present
dispensation.

REAL YOU: The soul.

REBOUND: Confession of personal sins leading to restoration of fellowship
(1 John 1:9).

REVERSIONISM: The condition of being maladjusted to the Directive
Will of God leading to divine discipline, the sin unto death, and loss
of eternal rewards.

SEPTUAGINT: The Greek Old Testament.

STA: Sinful Trend of Adam. A synonym for Old Sin Nature.

SIN UNTO DEATH: The removal of a believer from time for reversionism.

SOTERIOLOGY: Study of the doctrines related to Salvation.

SURPASSING GRACE: The special rewards awaiting believers in Ph3
for application of doctrine in Ph2.

SYNOPTICS: The books of Matthew, Mark, and Luke.

TRIBULATION: The seven-year period between the Rapture and the Second
Advent.

VERBAL PLENARY INSPIRATION: Asserts that inspiration extends to
the very words of the original manuscripts of the Bible.
